I’m likely to need to know: what kind of document you’re working on (monograph, multi-author collected volume, journal article, etc.), and what kind of work you want done: copy-editing on the manuscript before production, just a proofread for typos or also suggestions for smoother writing, changing the referencing style from one to another, proofreading after typesetting, just the index (after typesetting), etc.
